April 1, 2014 was our 10th Anniversary as Annville Family Medicine!  Thank you for allowing us to serve you!  Our staff celebrated with a luncheon.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month

Drinking too much alcohol increases people’s risk of injuries, violence, drowning, liver disease, and some types of cancer. This April during Alcohol Awareness Month, Annville Family Medicine encourages you to educate yourself and your loved ones about the dangers of drinking too much.

If you are drinking too much, you can improve your health by cutting back or quitting. Here are some strategies to help you cut back or stop drinking:

  • Limit your drinking to no more than 1 drink a day for women or 2 drinks a day for men.
  • Keep track of how much you drink.
  • Don’t drink when you are upset.
  • Avoid places where people drink a lot.
  • Make a list of reasons not to drink.
If you are concerned about someone else’s drinking, offer to help.

Walk with a Doc is a walking program for everyone interested in taking steps for a healthier lifestyle.  The program will start out with a brief, 5 minute talk given by a doctor/healthcare provider.  While you walk at your own pace, you'll have the opportunity to have questions answered by physicians from Annville Family Medicine. Come out and join your community healthcare professionals. You don't need any special gear, and there are no special rules. Just put on a pair of comfortable shoes and walk alone, with friends, with your family, or with a group. It's a personal preference!

Where:  Lebanon Valley College Arnold Sports Center Indoor Track for the Winter (or if you prefer, you can still walk at the outside track)

***As you enter the fitness center, turn right after you pass the main desk, go all the way to the end of the hall, and turn left at the west desk, to the lounge area at the far end.***

Time: 8:45 am registration/9:00 am walk

Upcoming Dates:

April 19th
May 17th
June 21st

Walks will continue on a once a month basis throughout the year.
